I don't have the iphone I just switched from, so I don't know if it worked there. I would like to see that a backuo is being made now at least but no luck so far.

Would like to borrow this thread for the same question for android phones?
Does helium transfer the entire apps with save data or just the save data.
My idea is get a new phone, non-rooted (I don't root my phones), re-install the HoS, then use helium to backup (I assume helium works for unrooted phone), and then restore the save game on the new phone. Will it work over unrooted phones. Using Samsung S4 now, thinking of upgrading to S6 once its available and if budget permits...
ps. If I've known about helium backup method almost over a year ago, I would not have lost all my captains for Star Traders Elite....up to now, never really restarted the game coz feel burnout after losing all my hardworn captains. Not sure why but the then in-game cloud backup never seems to transfer my captains, dispose of old phone fast, thus no recovery....

You're step by step sounds good. www.tresebrothers.com/transfer-saved-games-between-devices/

Thanks.
If I use the paid version of Helium and google drive as a storage, can I just backup into drive, then on new phone, INSTALL new HoS, then use helium to restore back immediately. No need extra step, a bit too lazy for that. Been holding back buying more episodes due to backup issues as I don't want to restart the whole game again like what happened to my star traders. Don';t feel like replaying all the episodes thus also the reason for not buying the paid characters, otherwise would have bought all of them for my party.

"Heroes of Steel RPG. 2014 andrew black - the game does not use any cloud features at this time." Was cloudsaving added to HoS RPG later? Im on an iphone 5. I still don't see it in iCloud Drive.

@cloudsave - iCloud was working when the game was released, we had lots of users talking to us about it. Since then, we've had reports that it is not working here on this thread. We're taking some time to investigate this week, as it may be related to all the new updates that Apple has been making in iOS, devices, iCloud rules, etc.

Am I the only one who has this icloud problem?
Did you find any insight into this issue?
Thanks

Your saves are stored in the 'Documents' folder. If you are using the default configuration, iCloud will backup your Documents folder.

Ok, cool. Is there a way for me to verify that it's backing up HoS in documents, or see the backup file there?

@cloudsave - there are some suggestions in this support document from Apple about how to manage / view your iCloud files: support.apple.com/en-us/HT204247See the section: "iCloud Drive You can manage which files are stored in iCloud Drive from your Mac, PC, iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch."
