Cg Well, I am back around here. So let me fill you up on what's been going on. 1. I ordered a Proof from Createspace, sat down to read Cerberus: From Hatred Born ... and I ... HATED IT. about 50+ punctuation mistakes, about 4 spelling errors. I also did not like the overuse of the word "Frack, Fracking" felt ...repetitive and ... dunno.. childish? So, rewrote it. 2. Found that *drumroll* almost 2/3rds of the characters DID NOT HAVE A PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION BEYOND THEIR ARMOR. Son of a *****!!! So added that in. All those with Kindle should be getting their book updated in the next few days. 3. Been going over the Content Edit from Cerberus: By Chains Thus Bound. That manuscript is do to enter the hands of my Line Editor on August 17th. I have about 100 more pages to go from a 237 page manuscript (its 90,000 words, regardless of the page count) 4. I haven't done a thing with my Webpage in a while OR my Forum. BAAAAD move. I really have to get them moving. But I'm SOO busy. 5. Written a lot about the next series. A world of magic I am calling Monfelia: Monsters and Magic. Having a hard time balancing the target audience. Have the time I want to make it serious heavy duty fantasy, the other half I want to cat-girls and jokes. But, considering its me, it will be full of blood, sacrifice, and some viciously evil bastards. On the other hand, I am going a little more traditional. This story WILL have a HERO, not an anti-hero. Or at least, more heroish than Cerberus. Well... anyone is more of a 'hero' than Cerberus. 6. I am in DIRE NEED OF REVIEWS. Most of what I've heard is very positive but no reviews! Arrrgh!!! 7. I am simply adding a #7 because I like the number, and everyone should have a 7 in their life. 8. Doing a lot of exercising 1hour 30-40 minutes every morning. I haven't lost a single pound. Not one. BUT I feel as strong as an OX. I'm bulking up ... now if I can just cut down on the beer a little. OK, so Google Play and other outlets. HMMMMMMMMM. I have to consider it. See, I am VERY much thinking of enrolling on Amazon's Kindle unlimited because I need exposition. But the requirement for that is ... exclusive for Kindle. Considering that Amazon is the biggest dog around, by a large ridiculous margin, I have to think carefully about my next steps. I haven't decided yet, but I hope to make a decision by August 17 (when I finish this round of edits for Cerberus: By Chains Thus Bound) rabid

I double check, but I know I left a review or two under my names I used. Don't worry too much about any things you don't like, as long as the readers love it, you're good. Can't wait for November.

rabidbite, I've gotten to the point where I've been introduced to the Neuroblade who has the Lou Gehrig's Disease. Probably won't re-read the stuff up to that point when the new version comes out. Any thoughts on that? I'll review as soon as I finish reading. Good ol' number 7.

Perhaps makes some scene changes less abrupt, clears things up a little in others, but its the same book. rabid

rabidbite, that sounds good. I do recall a few sentences along the way that were a bit confusing, so hopefully you've fixed those. Overall, I'm enjoying it much. As I noted above, there is occasionally a sentence which I cannot understand, though maybe that's largely correct in the new version. Other than that, I'm a bit confused by the new characters that I don't see clearly tying into the story line. The female Sergeant who stomped heads was tied in at the end. The Lou Gehrig's Neuroblade, I still don't see the tie in. Though that may become clear later. PS. Muscle is more dense than fat, so if you increase workouts, sometimes weight stays the same as you replace fat with muscle.

I will give you an in depth review once I can do that. Money is extremely tight right now.

Well, they all have a reason to be there. Stryker out of sheer skill. If that is what you mean by 'tie in'? There is always the question of" Why need a decker if Cerberus can probably out slice any human? Well, that question is answered at the end. rabid

After I finish with these edits and the next trilogy of books, I am SO going back to Cerberus Book I to try a more centrist book. A story mostly focused around Cerberus with him entering the city, and establishing himself with the Fangs. Maybe even have a few Neuroblade runs. Probably 2 years from now.
... unless I feel I've learned enough and finally write that Sci-fi space fighter story I want to write. Man that one pulls at me. :-)

rabidbite, I haven't had a chance to read recently, so nothing new here. I did want to add that plenty of books and shows introduce multiple characters early on that confuse readers and watchers. I prefer when things tie together but there are successful examples of more scattered approaches. So, I probably should have held my comment until I'd read further in the book, which should happen soon. Kudos to you for pursuing your dream and writing. You have a unique and enjoyable style.

To be honest, Tenb, I welcome critical observations. If anyone has some, than me an email. jycalcano@gmail.com. List your observations. I am surrounded by friends wishing me well. What I lack are the friends who have the guts to tell me "I didn't like your book because of this...." If you can include examples, even better. rabid

SO, the first round of edits on Cerberus: By Chains Thus Bound, is done. This manuscript ended up being 91,500 words long. Freaking huge. Things I did differently on this volume. 1. I rewrote a lot of the book to make it from Cerberus's point of view. Some things simply can't be, but you'll find the 'half-man' is not in the backgrounds, but actively in the forefront of the story. 2. One scene I always thought needed work revolved around Cerberus WITHOUT limits. That scene has been scaled up significantly. 3. I added .... erm ... hmm. I can't tell you THIS one because of spoilers. Bah. In my honest opinion, the second book is better than the 1st book, but as always, I will endeavor continue to improve myself. rabid

Did you write them all at once and then just break them into 3 volumes? or do you just write as fast as Stephen King?
