As there are lots of questions, emails, and at least a few threads about this now, I wanted to share our plan for releasing Templar Battleforce. Our current plan is targeting the week of August 7th for our Steam release. This will include PC, Mac, and Linux platforms. After a successful Steam launch, we will turn our attention to finishing and polishing the mobile release. Keys will be available for all of our alpha members upon Steam launch. The alpha on mobile will continue to run as well, basically providing an "early access" for mobile. We hope'll you stay tuned here or join the mailing list to keep up with the launch news.

Just out of curiosity fallen, why the initial release on Steam? Is it because the ratings on Android are important when it comes to sales, so early bugs can be squashed on the PC? That's pure conjecture on my part, of course.

Just out of curiosity fallen, why the initial release on Steam? Is it because the ratings on Android are important when it comes to sales, so early bugs can be squashed on the PC? That's pure conjecture on my part, of course. Reviews are critical on any market, and make up one of the biggest deciding factors as to whether a new gamer will play. That's why we are always asking for our users to leave them - there is no more important action you could take to help Trese Brothers (even more important than buying the game again, seriously). I think our decision to release Steam first says more about the change over the years in our game design capabilities and approach. As we've grown, we started designing games first for tablets (Heroes of Steel was the first) and then work on how to fit the elements on to the phone. This is a far more successful direction to flow a UI, than to try the other way. So, the natural next step is to work PC first, which has the most complicated control structures, expectations, and screen size. The last few alpha updates have rolled out months of work coming to fruition on PC / Mac / Linux features. Also, Every market has an inherent sizeable cost of release -- leaderboards, achievements, marketing, build scripts, everything. So, if you look at mobile you've got 3 (Amazon, GPlay, iOS). With the death of Desura, we've got Steam and ... just Steam. As you pointed out in your question, it is a place to do a release with one pile of moving features instead of three. Finally, Steam is a growing and very important part of our ecosystem and we're excited to launch BF there first.

This might actually make me get steam.
Still deciding if I primarily want to play TB game on mobile or my new (well, to me anyway) laptop.

And the mobile Alpha will continue until the release is deployed, in various forms.

Hopefull mobile support will not fall by the wayside. Especially after the Steam release, we'll be focusing on mobile perfection for the mobile release. So, you'll see it's core to our mission!

WHAT! @alltheforum. Is this a complete misunderstanding on my part, or have the Trese Brothers actually given an ETA Joking aside. Does Templar Assault Battleforce need to be Greenlit, or has Steam now ditched the greenlighting process as they were considering doing? Or... Is the Greenlighting process just a once off, to except the TB's into the STEAM ranks?

Cg - we have been using this fun YouTube video to say that the game has changed ... we issued an ETA. We had to grow up sometime But just this once. The game just changed back! Templar Battleforce will release directly to Steam without a Greenlight process.

Since you have given an ETA, does this mean that we'll also see an IAP that allows us to buy more IAP's?
