I've just come across this wonderful concept. I'm sure its not unique to Glasgow or even the UK. Charities are collecting toys and games, either new or used but in good condition, and passing them on to families who cannot afford Christmas gifts. Why not have a look in your cupboards, attics, cellars, etc. and see if you can find something to donate to your local toy bank? Or if, like me, you don't have kids and are too old to still have your old toys, could you spare a few {insert local currency here} and pop down to your local toy store and buy a gift for a needy child?

Yup, I was recently back in the US and was surprised to see all the "Toys for Tots" boxes all over the place. An awesome concept, and one that I'll see if I can't replicate here in SK.

Most Churches, at least here in Alabama, also have similar program every year
