In my experience so far, the 2h weapons are always inferior to duel wield, maybe they should parry a bit better (+1) or gain a little more dmg, say 10%. Or maybe roll dmg thrice and pick the middle so the dmg is a bit more consistent. Right now except for the Paladin I never use 2h since 2 swords are (almost) always better than any 2h weapon for Vraes. I'd choose the thrice roll and up parry as most sensible imo, but what I really want is 2 range long pike/spears... Hurry up with ep.4, LoS and SoS already! :-p Love you guys, thanks. PS did I miss your interview with Shaun Musgrave follow up from the rpg reload on HoS, or is that something Shaun over promised a bit?

At this point, I'm very happy with the balance of 2H weapons and can't see changing them. Except for the discussion we've been having about Strength would have the best effect on 2H weapons. Sorry, do you just mean the RPG reloaded post? toucharcade.com/2015/11/27/rpg-reload-file-063-heroes-of-steel/

1. Yeah I can see that would work out.
2. In the article he said he was going to follow up once you guys got back to him after Thanksgiving I think. Maybe he over promised as said...

Comparing 2H weapons to dual wield ... are you sure you're not misunderstanding the rules of how weapons are combined? I'm having trouble finding any same-level examples where dual wield is a clear winner.

Comparing 2H weapons to dual wield ... are you sure you're not misunderstanding the rules of how weapons are combined? I'm having trouble finding any same-level examples where dual wield is a clear winner. I'm never sure of myself, but... Boost-in weapon shop as example: (best 3 ap) 2h: Baron-blade 5acc, 5 parry 37-71 dmg. Hooked poleaxe 6acc, 4 parry 45-70 dmg. Great hammer 5acc, 2 parry 48-81 dmg. Vs best duel wields: dex only: Hilted longblade, Scything blade 4acc, 6 parry 40-76dmg dex and/or str: scything blade, crossblade 4acc, 4 parry up to 46-87 dmg. The only way duel wield is clearly inferior is acc., but can gain an extra, albeit smallish hit if dex is primary, plus better max dmg (and maybe min dmg?) and/better parry... So what am I missing, since it's usually me being stupid..? I'll reread the combat rules too just to be sure... Edit: just checked combat mechanics and it claims base damages add so edited to reflect that...

wascalwywabbit - nice combos. The game balance is setup such that 1-H, 2-H, and dual wield weapons are comparable and all are viable. That's the point I don't see anything wrong with what you've posted.
