Another insignificant bug that I've known about for a long time but didn't really care to report...
If you turn on the Kindle's Rotation Lock the screen can still flip in the STRPG app (and also ST4X).

Thanks for the report. Might be an issue with the specific Kindle hardware you have. I have 4 different Kindles and they all exhibit different issues. Which exact Kindle do you have?
When you say ST 4X, do you mean your hardware will rotate that game portrait?
EDIT: In ST RPG, just set the orientation lock inside the game. I think this is just how Amazon wants their rotation lock to work, it actually doesn't do anything to apps. Thanks!

Fixed this in STRPG by going into the game's options and setting screen orientation to "Landscape" rather than "Auto".
I still have the same problem with ST4X, flipping over the device will cause the game screen to flip as well regardless if rotation is set to lock.
The specific model I have is a Kindle Fire HD 3rd gen.

Like you can rotate between the two different landscape orientations? That is intentional.
