Hi,
First time post. I love the game, play everyday. Got most awards and I usually play on Hard. This board is great, I have learned tons here.
Problem: I bought Elite ST on the Amazon market, and am constantly frustrated because I have to wait for updates, sometimes for weeks. It is killing me!
My question: What would happen if I buy Elite Star Traders AGAIN on Android market, so I can get the current updates as they come out? Will there be any way to import my captains and awards? Would everything get deleted?

dwebber - there is no way to move games from Amazon to Google. You would have to start clean-slate with new captains. However, Android lets us post updates immediately and you get them the same day. Amazon has an approval process which causes the long week waits. We have seen slightly better turn-around from them recently, having found a great support rep, but there is still a big delay.

Every week I am pushing on Amazon to publish our updates faster and with less delay.
There have been two really long delays that stretched into weeks, but for the most part they get updates every 5 days instead of every 3.
I'm working really hard to bring that into parity.

Hey DW ... If you are really active on the game and it's soaking up most of your spare time, I'd actually recommend the switch to the Android Market version. Sure you have to start over again, but that's a bit of fun in itself. You also get those immediate updates that are so fantastic. If, on the other hand, you've been playing ST for a while and are beginning to shift to other games like CK or TA, then it might not be worth the switch. It's all about how much of your future life will be consumed for an additional $2  Me ... I'd make the switch right now if I were on Amazon, but I've been playing ST for 10 months now and don't think I can give up on it even if I wanted to. |

$2 is less than a cup of coffee (unless it is one of those bits of liquid tar that they serve at 7-Elevens). With or without a refund, if you play the game solidly for more than a day, you've more than balanced the equation between cost and fun-factor.

Wow, just to be clear -
I am Not asking for a refund! I have no problem paying for this game, and I encourage everyone to buy the elite version ( on Android market).
As for Amazon, it feels like a *safer place to buy apps. If I was not so obsessed with ST, the lag time for them to test an update would actually be a good thing as far as I'm concerned.

It took me 3 weeks to get CK to Amazon distribution + a 1 week long verification process as a publisher before I could send my first game.
For Android Market, I was signed up and pushed my first application in about 30 minutes.

Amazon is like a special market that is not easy to get into, but if you succeed to survive all the little challenges, the prizes are amazonic! (possible even 50% income boost(citation needed))
