I wonder if it wouldn't make sense to swap the names of these two talents. Treating the wounded is something that you can do in your medical bay. If you are doing surgery there, it isn't field surgery. On the other hand, if you are doing surgery as part of crew combat, it most definitely _is_ field surgery.
