I don't think most of these are bugs. I believe the reason why Burst Fire, Lethal Trap, etc. are not usable at "position one" is for balance reasons; having these skills limited in what positions they can be used prevents one combat class from being able to dominate at all ranges. I doubt I would use Swordsmen or Pistoleers if I could Full Auto from any position!
I suggest giving your Soldiers the "Called Shot" talent to prevent them from becoming fence posts, since that attack can be used at any range.

As resistor suggests, all of these are balance decisions. If every Talent was available to use in every position, then the entire position system, pushing back, moving forward, etc would be moot. Bounty Hunters and Soldiers are both identified as "backline" Jobs. They function best in the back row. Swordsman are "frontline" jobs and Pistoleers and Combat Medics are "midline" Jobs. I hope that helps explain the decision. The dots do no lie -- if there are gray dots for spot 1 and 2, then the Talent cannot be used there. You mentioned that you had at least 1 bug and a bunch of questions. Out of the post, I could not isolate the one thing you were convinced was a bug. Could you outline that again? Thanks!

This is similar to how you cannot use Shredding Fire and Plasma Rifles at Range 6 in Templar Battleforce.

No doubt why he was attacked and pulled to position-1 from his normal position-3 fighting position. Then repeatedly cripple attacked to prevent him from retreating. The results might have been different had Resolute Stance been working. (fence post comment) At level(32) I have no more talent points for him to spend testing. Tests I cannot perform at this time include: Discipline, Covering Fire, Concussion Grenade, and Frag Grenade. I believe Bounty Hunters lack the balance enjoyed by Soldiers. I should address this in a separate thread analyzing Bounty Hunter Balance, similar to some of my HoS threads. That won't be coming anytime soon. I'll need time to cool off before using this character type again. There is plenty to say that has nothing to do with being in position-1 or 2. For now once burned twice shy. I have a million team combos I want to move forward with testing. Hit a bump in the road? Just keep driving towards the next horizon. Clear analysis should never be attempted when emotionally frustrated. I lost some some objectivity by getting too attached after putting in so much time on this BH build. After all it's just a test, no need to run for the bomb shelter.

Since Bounty Hunter will be an Officer anyway, it's a good idea to pair it with some complementary job that will give you some talents that can be used at mid/close range. This will give you some flexibility. That, or disable the enemy before they push/pull/pin you into a bad spot.

Ticket #3585 (new defect)ST2 - Bug - Pistoleer's 'Duelers Stance' TalentPerfect, thanks for highlighting that. Took #3587 to fix. From a balance standpoint, what the AI did to you is very similar to what I'd suggest you do to the player. A well-trained crew combatant will know the slots his enemies are able to use and can do very well in combat by knocking enemies into slots where they cannot do anything. Even better, knock them there and then pin them. Since combat is 100% symmetrical, if we remove the AI's ability to do that to you, we remove your ability to do that to the AI. And, an underlying requirement of that is to have slots in which certain Jobs can't do squat (yes, fencepost!). In this case, if you had that Buff you could use it, but if you wanted to get back into combat, you need to spend a turn moving.
