I bought a fancy pistol for a pistoleer recruit I had. But, never satisfied with her performance, I hired 2 more when next at the ex-Bounty-Hunter's residence. One of them looked very good, officer class, so I fired her and made him into a combat medic. I thought to give him the weapon she no longer was using. Except, wherever she went, she is still using it. Had to buy a new one from the ex-Bounty Hunter.

They also take special weapons/armour with them when they desert. I thought this was the agreed compromise from an earlier request; we can automatically recover the weapons from crew combat deaths, but if they are alive and get fired/abscond they keep them as spoils!
As an aside, it would be good if we could extend this to war gear too?
Have you noticed what happens when officers/crew carrying special gear get killed in ship combat? Is it recovered like in crew combat

would be nice to have a locker to re-store (take off) armor, weapons, etc...
but on first read, if they desert from the ship, don't understand the logic of automatically removing them of their trousers, guns or knives. I'd think they would take everything they could get, including some loot.

But I fired this one. She didn't desert. I could have un-equipped her before giving her the boot, but I assumed her pistol would show up in the weapons locker. Turn in your keys and weapons before disembarking, please, and thank you for your service. (<to myself> And maybe you should reconsider combat duty until after you learn how to hit what you are shooting at?)
