I am a de Valtos Merchant. We're in a trade alliance with Rychart, and have been for 38 weeks. Meanwhile Clan Zenrin has a trade ban with Rychart and that has been going on for 28 weeks and 2 days.
I went to a Rychart planet, just to buy gas, and discovered that it was a split Farming/Hi Tech world. Which means there is a tiny amount of money to be made moving Methane Fuel and Hydrogen Fuel from one side of the planet to another. So I did that. I was warned that Zenrin wouldn't like it, and the warning was quite correct, they now think I am a criminal.
But neither Rychart nor de Valtos seemed to react positively to this trade. Shouldn't they be happy? If not, what is a Trade Alliance good for?

grävling - our apologies, not all Rumors or Conflicts are done yet. Lots of effects that need to be layered into the game.

Most of the Conflicts are pretty latent atm. They drive Influence changes across the Quadrants, and can result in Contact death. They can drive up Intel Record prices very nicely, increase Rep gain in Patrol. In the next release they will be driving Missions from Contacts.

(Now this might really need to be it's own thread, but....) Speaking of which.. ' Contact Death ' Considering how spacers live so much longer than everyone else. And there's supposedly a fairly 'set' # of contacts at least to begin with. As the game goes on... Contacts die due to simple age (or who knows what else) Will the game create new contacts? Will some of these potentially be auto-added (Hey, prince nimrod of euclid had a son... you played with him when you visited.. Now that Nimrod is dead, his son, Nincompoop is now a contact, keeping up the connection) Or need to strictly be found by other contact-gathering techniques (talents, purchase as a reference/contact, etc) If/when a contact dies, will there be alerts? What other happenings may crop up that are related? (Maybe Nimrod's son hates you, so once he dies, you've a rep-loss issue on your hands, now that the kid is in 'power')

Will it always be a set 'max' # of contacts in any game/map? Will time allow it to grow as well as shrink? (again, some die, which will shrink the pool.. But perhaps contact Alpha has 3 kids, they all love you... etc...)

Derailed threads get no details, only vague statements with exclamation points!
Contact population will be flexible and grow and shrink and trend towards the correct number.
