I'm a tiny unskilled de Valtos Merchant.
Just flying around my home quadrant -- nobody shot at me or anything -- I managed to get 70% damage on my Lance Array. Ow!
But the opening in quadrant missions just ended, and quite happily, I have a contact who wants me to go on a long diplomatic mission. Which means I need some sort of passenger cabin. I figure I could throw away this damaged component, stop looking at a HUD display about broken components and replace it with a luxury cabin. But do I have the cash for it, and also gas? Not to mention paying my crew -- they're going to want money before the first part of the diplomacy happens. Let's find out.
That's not too bad. I can afford it and still have gas money and salaries.
Ow, ow, ow! Looks like the rotten rats charged me for repairing the thing, as a 'hidden surcharge'!!
