When I press 'back' here, I don't want to blast into orbit. I just want the 'Retreive Cargo From Stash' box to go away. I can pick a different control button on the left hand side to make that happen, but not if I have already left the surface of the planet because I pressed back. It's extremely frustrating.

I am sorry that it is so frustrating.
I don't understand what you're asking tho. What is "here". You are not "exploring" as the thread title suggests. When I press back from the screenshot you show, the Stash UI closes.
Can you clarify or explain your steps?

I'm exploring. I found some raw resources. They went to the stash. I immediately unloaded it from the stash and into my cargo hold. I was then at the screen I posted. I pressed the back button. Zap, out to orbit.

And as a general issue, I never want the back button to mean 'blast me into orbit'. I want no blasting into orbit to ever happen unless I tap on the 'orbit' button, conveniently located right beside the back button. If there happens to be somebody who likes the 'back == orbit' misfeature, which I doubt, I don't think they will find moving their finger (or mouse) one finger's width to the left any hardship. I don't care so much whether it cleans up any open windows on your screen, like a recruit screen or that stash box, (though that would be nice) or if it does absolutely nothing, or if it is greyed out so you cannot press it any more. I just want it to stop putting me into orbit. ever.

grävling - I am not saying this is a feature. It is a bug. However, it is really important how you got there. If I land on a world, and open the Stash screen and hit Back button, it closes the stash screen. No bug, no issue. Describing a procedure by which a bug can be reproduced would save both of our fingers some strain

I did that already.
but here it is with even more words.
I am in the middle of an exploring mission. I drew a raw resource card. The resources went into the cache. I immediately clicked on the cache because I wanted to put them into my cargo hold. I loaded them into the cargo hold. The screen looked exactly as I posted it. I pressed the back button. I went into orbit.

grävling - thank you, that is perfect. The goal is that I can reproduce the issue the first time, instead of trying, failing, and posting back to the forum a few times to get the step-by-step that will let me repro and fix! #3601

Apparantly something, since it worked and the earlier one didn't.

It could be better organized, by but that point (third post on the the thread, ~20 minutes of time sunk into it) I was able to reproduce the bug. My response to that post was to point out how important it is to explain how you got the bug, because the reproduction steps from the OP were unclear.

Yeah, but I wasn't aware I had a bug. I thought it was a designed misfeature, and as such wouldn't be any trouble to reproduce, since it was working as intended. Once you mentioned it was a bug, I made a post about how to repreoduce it.

grävling - sounds good We've burnt enough time on this one lol. #3601, also seems to be an issue isolated to mobile.

Ah, well, I can also report that android users are still getting this unwanted behaviour when on the surface of a planet that isn't a wilderness, too.
i.e. Talk to a contact hit the back button wanting the whole contact-yapping window to go away blast into orbit Go to the spice district see who is for hire there, hire one person hit the back button wanting the whole hiring window to go away blast into orbit
So if you have that fixed for PC, I just wanted to report its not fixed on mobile yet.

Now that you describe it that way, we haven't been talking about the same thing at all. Lol.
I have updated #3601 to actually address the issue you are reporting. It is now an RFE and not a bug.
