I've noticed that on certain Missions (e.g. Forceful Inquiry, Prisoner of War, Targeted Officer), part of the mission requirement is to capture or kill a person after engaging in ship combat. Maybe it's just 'baggage' from STRPG, but sometimes I feel confused about the "correct course of action" should be. Examples: - During ship combat, is it possible to accidentally kill the enemy captain? Would I auto-fail a capture mission if this happens?
- After ship combat, I get the standard choices of Leave/Loot/Fuel/Ransom/Destroy. Is there a "correct" choice? If my mission is to capture, will the enemy captain be killed if I Destroy the ship? Will I accidentally let the captain go free if I "Leave"?
From my experience, it seems like as long as you win the ship combat, you auto-complete the mission step, and anything else you do doesn't matter. But there could be either customized post-combat choices or additional dialogue/summary text that could help clarify these issues to new players.

We've elected to remove the complexity that was present in ST RPG, in exchange for more complex combats and mission constructs. It is a net gain in game complexity, but we've eliminated the player challenge of winning combats specific ways.
We reserve the right to add other types of mission steps, properly explained with warnings, that require specific combat victory states in the (distant) future.

In that case, can you add a line of text to the post-combat Victory screen? Currently, there is nothing differentiating a Mission-related Victory screen from a random combat Victory screen.
e.g. {Target Name} has been captured/killed.

I believe that would confuse more than it would help. We'll take it into advisement.

Hmm... what about: {Target Name} has been captured/killed, and we must decide what to do with his|her ship and crew.
---
By the way, what happens if I need to run from the mission ship combat? Will I get the chance to Blockade again and trigger the encounter later? If not, is there any warning message in place? (e.g. If we attempt to escape from this ship combat, we will fail the mission.)

Escape is failure.

Okay, makes sense. Right, now I remember one of the missions saying something along the lines of "we have one shot at capturing the target".
Hold on, I think I have a Predator Tracking Array stashed somewhere in the trunk...

There are planned Talents for Jobs like Bounty Hunter that mean that Escape != Failure, including cases when the enemy flees.
