Primary Target wiki table suggestions thread
Andrew is asking for our help to design tables in wiki. An enormous amount of information is coming.
He wants to know what you want to see. He needs your ideas and creativity, please give him that support.
This is one of those unique opportunities for Alpha testers to shape the very fabric of what ST2 will look like to the outside world.
Posting a text entry in wiki table suggestions thread is just fine and dandy, please do.
(If you don't have a mouse and keyboard, I'll gladly help build a template custom tailored to your specs. Post a text or shoot a PM.)
Pictures are often better. Here is a very, very simple way to create a sample sketch table for him.
How to build a simple template for fallen to use when building his wiki tables
Wiki Tables: Every column in a wiki table has ascending, and descending sort arrows built in. Keep that in mind
when you post a sample table template of what you would like to see @ fallen create.
Here is what the little table we will build for fallen will look like.
Default View
Xeno Artifact | Avg Price | Planet | Added New col |
Zip human ripper | 15k | Industrial
Added new row |
View when "Border" box is checked
Xeno Artifact | Avg Price | Planet | Added New col |
Zip human ripper | 15k | Industrial
Added new row |
Let's get started; As Officer Genious says "easy peasy"
Go to the toolbar at the top of the screen.
Click on the button with the little boxes.
Now the Insert Table box will appear.
Click on "Insert Table" Forget the other options we don't need them.
Build box
A default table with 2 columns and 2 rows will appear ready for you to start typing.
Place your cursor anywhere in a row or column and just start typing. I usually use row 1 for my column header names.
Too add a new column: Place your cursor anywhere in the table and right click
This drop down menu will appear.
First drop down to col / row
Now left click on Column and the final drop down menu will appear.
Make your selection and left click on it.
Now your new column will appear ready for new text.
Sample filled
Editing: Whenever you enter text, the column will automatically expand to contain it.
If you have allot of empty space or text you don't want in a column. Place your mouse cursor
at the end of the text and hit the delete key until it contracts to the size you want.
Just like columns you can add/delete rows right click on any row and use the drop down menu.anywhere in the table, using the drop down menu.
