I tried my first Twitch stream tonight. I am impressed by Cory's ability to code and stream! I was able to get a bit of work done though --
Thanks to the twitch crew on tonight watching me try to get some features implemented and showing off new animations with ship combat!
Both weapons and Talents now are visually showing when they are invalid due to range, as well as sorting by their relation to the current range.
At range 3, the Railguns and Plasma Cannons are first, the Lance (range 2) second, and then everything that is out of range.

Also, for mobile you can now select out of range Talents and Weapons and then click Info to see their details. grävling thanks for pointing that out

Added an overlay for weapons that are too damaged to fire.

Thanks for steaming. Always fun to see what's headed our way. It does make it harder to play the current version though, knowing what we are missing.
Will some traits be mutually exclusive? One of the crew last night had both calm and rash traits. That one doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

@kanly - yes, there will be a whole set of mutually exclusive rules added. First, they will go in to protect against overlapping Morale and XP rules (Obdurate but Sharp Witted .. what does +25% but -25% XP do!?) and then they will be expanded to reduce some of the most conflicted cases of Trait collision. I find most of them really interesting. For example, someone who is both terrified and fascinated by the xeno. Love it.

I have fat fingers and although I have been playing it on a very large screened smartphone, I still need a stylus for it to read the input.

I find most of them really interesting. For example, someone who is both terrified and fascinated by the xeno. Love it. I've rolled several soldiers with the "Pacifist" trait = -20% all Accuracy It would be hilarious to roll a soldier with this trait, plus Peacemaker, and Xenophonic. These two would add morale loss on enemy death, and double morale loss encountering xeno. I thought the coding you did was super fast. It was also impressive how few times you had to backspace over a typo. It looked like time lapse too me. (I wrote in a variety of mainframe coding languages spanning 25 years so this is a pretty good compliment). The steam was a real blast. I hope you will do another stream going into the artwork, and animation even more deeply. I would like to see what you are thinking about what Xeno attack animation will look like. Especially when one of them attacks from slot 4. I'm wondering about things like spitting a steam of poison. The first glimpse all the xenos were identical, but I know you will vary the attack group, etc... Thanks for taking the plunge on your first stream. (another groveling fan +1 K)

LordofSyn - right now, the best experience is definitely on desktop or a tablet. We'll keep working to improve for phones, but I will say that it isn't a high priority right now, as the mobile port will finish after the game launches on Steam.

John Robinson - thanks for the all the compliments. The coding was fun, and at the end we did get some really nice features out of it, which I've expanded overnight again. I will have to try to get the streaming software to play nice with Photoshop. I agree that would be a lot of fun. Heck, I'd love to just do streaming of drawing time.

I know that the mobile versions will be optimized after the PC versions.

Yeah kill 2 birds with one stone. Just watching the art making in action, and at the same time making stuff you were planning to use. Never know what kind of ideas could get bounced around on a stream. My imagination goes crazy looking at drawings and color/shading choices. My own stick drawings don't offer those opportunities, so I stick to tables.
