I was just thinking of a cool idea for a talent. It could either be one that you would have to use in ship combat, or it could fire when you go into ship combat automatically if it's not on cool down. My initial thought is that it would give you some helpful info about the enemy ship and captain such as "This Pirate's optimal range is range 3." It could also tell you how many reactor points they have (which would be helpful further down the road) or what their first talent will be. There may be other types of info that would be helpful but I can't think of them right now. Maybe this talent could be called "Adept Scanner"?
Second talent would be one that makes it impossible for a ship to escape on that turn. That may seem a little game-breaking, but when you figure it's a one turn talent that means you're not using other things it's not so bad. It would also be limited by the number of crew you have with the talent, so maybe make high for someone you're not going to have a bunch of like a bounty hunter, pirate or commander.

contributor - we are looking at some sensor abilities that fit into the mold you are suggestion. In regards to the other Talent, I'd warn that anything you give the player, you give the enemy. I think people will be unhappy to see pirates and xeno use that type of Talent against them and feel like they are being cheated.

But think of all the player tears that Cory Trese could collect! Honestly it wouldn't bother me, because it's just one turn and it keeps them from using some other buff. And again, if it were level 11 and a rare enough character type, I think it would be ok. Hopefully you wouldn't find a xeno with 5 Bounty Hunters on board. And if you do, you might be thankful that he's not using that range 5 boarding talent instead. You guys are getting so soft.

We should give this Talent to the xeno jobs! In all seriousness, I think its cool. Hunters could get it for sure.

Since there are two ships involved, and a lot of piloting/navigation/electronics in play, I don't think it makes sense for there ever to be any circumstance that is 100% guaranteed hit/escape/block.
