---- Rfe not a currently available component ---
New Warp Dampener 1, for $20,000 Reduces damage to Hyperdrive.
Warp Dampener 1, 150 Mass / Small +10 Ships Ops Shields Hyperdrive 15% damage.
You are already getting a morale drop from crew with merciless trait, and lose reputation with the faction you have avoided combat with. I'm proposing another way to mitigate Skip off the Void damage.

Hi JR, yes I actually like the idea of this thing. I would suggest that instead of an unlimited ability to mitigate damage at the listed percentage, this component also itself gets significantly damaged with each use (similar to those components that help with operations).

Thanks for the suggestion!
I would suggest that you invest in other Encounter Talents as well as cheaper and easier ways to avoid most enemy Captain types. Save SOtV for xeno or other pesky unshakeables.

Hi JR, yes I actually like the idea of this thing. I agree completely. Just like any other component, the more damage it takes the less good it can do. So if Warp Dampener goes so does your extra protection helping the main hyperdrive from dropping below 60% for a little longer. (Currently 1 skip can drop Hyperwarp to 50%). My conclusion is Skip off the Void has gone from one extreme to the other. Game re-balancing is very complex. Picture playing a game of Jinga with code. So this post should be taken with a large grain of salt. I'll still play a diplomat, ground combat specialist, not a ship fighter. When in a quadrant with high negative rep, the other talents have not worked for me. (Except for Stiff Salute, which works every time against military & zealot ships) I'll run when forced into the first round of ship combat. Then pay to repair the battle damage. If it's a young crew, just keep recruiting until they hit 2 years of service, and will not quit the crew after a ship combat skirmish. I'm chopping but don't see any chips flying, thanks for giving it serious consideration.
