Greetings,
What ship weapons do you use and for what purpose?
I seem to always gravitate toward the plasma artillery, as I almost always prefer not completely destroying the enemy ship.
Do any of you use the lance arrays? How are they?
Also, inb4 !torp

I tend to use Positions 5/3/1 for high Cripple, and pair with high Crit weapons on 4/2. That way, no matter what position I'm in, I can always fire one of each type. The high Crit weapons help you land a critical hit, which when achieved, also amplify the secondary damage from your other hits. That's very useful for destroying components and wittling down their crew without causing a hull rupture. I try to stick with radiation type weapons (since crit bonus does not apply to void damage), and stay miles away from the Gravcannons which are too destructive overall. startraders.gamepedia.com/Ship_Components#WeaponsFor early game when I don't have many slots available on my ship, I stick with Torps and Missiles.

They seem particularly likely to inflict the Engine Failure debuff, which causes the enemy to have -2 RP among other things. Great for limiting the enemy's firepower and movement.
