In the lore, is there a particular way that Templars and strict law-abiding gravs would prefer Xeno artifacts were handled? What do they expect me to do but sell them on the black market? Leave them alone so someone else can gather and sell them? Perhaps it would be neat if you got a small reputation bonus for destroying Xeno artifacts instead of selling them -- but only with the Templar faction. Maybe you could gain rep with contacts that "Love Templars" or something as well. But... this is contingent upon the lore. What do totally law-abiding people do with these things?

Destroy by fire, I imagine. See TBF

I'm sure you can eject them out of your ship into the sun or something. But how would the Faction(s) know what you did?

They'd know via the new Templar-sponsored FTL communication array, of course. :troll:

It's a neat idea. There could be depots for artifact destruction on well developed faction worlds. The 'depot' would be tied in with existing infrastructure, maybe the exchange but probably certain types of contacts would be a better match. Then you could get a slight rep boost with that faction for surrendering artifacts for destruction.
