I've been playing your game for 30 hours so far. What I'm still struggling with, is knowing what buffs and debuffs in crew combat do without having to read the hovertip again.
Most abilities share certain effects with other abilities (bleed, poison, pinned, ... ). That's why I'd prefer not to see the individual ability that caused the buff or debuff, but rather the effect. What I want to see at a glance is in what state a fighter is - that way I don't have to learn the abilities by heart. Then on the hover I'd love to read all the effects with how long they're active and how strong they are (e.g. 40% bleed for 2 more turns).
In essence, if my fighter gets hit with an ability that causes Pinned 20% and Bleed 40% for three turns, the fighter would have two icons, one for each of the effects. If he gets hit again, the icons stack if the effects stack. On mouse hover, I can see TTL for each effect and the strength of the effect.
I'd love to see the same thing in ship combat, but because the effects are even more diverse I reckon that would be even harder.

That is very interesting feedback. We will keep gathering information about how players play the game and continue to try to improve the game in a way that benefits the maximum number of players.
Sorry you are struggling with Crew combat. We will try harder. Keep in mind that Bleed, Poison, Stun, Pin all have obvious visual effects that you can look for.

I play on lower difficulties (normal) so I rarely bother with cure (remove debuff) talents. But, the tactical decision is whether to have the current crew attack, or burn a cure on another crew. If the other crew has high accuracy and has a -10% accuracy debuff, who cares. But if the other crew has accuracy 60% and a -40% debuff, then the cure may be really helpful. The request is to see the numeric value *in addition* to the obvious visual effect and/or icon. Developers/expert players are more likely to remember the numeric values.

Doesn't sound like the same thing, but I appreciate the feedback. We will keep trying to improve. Thankfully I don't worry very much at all about trying to fit the game for "Developers/expert players"

@ragnanaught - Pinned and Bleed are immediately visible.

Stunned shows the % of stun (stacking) directly on the character.
