I propose another set of Mass reducing components. These would be similar to Mass Dampeners but would have:
+30% More Mass reduction (main selling point) +50% Additional Cost in credits +1 more fuel per jump cost Reduces Armor by 5 to 10% (higher tiers reduce more armor)
Stacking these is a defensive risk, as well as an enormous expense, but would sometimes permit using one fewer of these kinds of components, freeing up a slot.

Several players have complained on steam that they find mass reducers a waste, and they would prefer an empty slot. For example, on many ships, you can remove the mass reducer and replace with nothing. This still comes within the mass limit, and it lowers your jump cost. I recognize that there are several isolated cases where upgrading a medium mass reducer allows removing a small mass reducer and replacing with something useful. But, rather than making it more complicated, I'd recommend making it less complicated. Remove all the mass reducers and decrease the ship module count to match. Less paperwork.

Thanks for the feedback! Great to see both opinions in the same thread. There was a very small discussion on Steam about an empty component, but I tried to be clear on the thread -- this is not something that will be added to the game.
Interesting concept for a more risk Mass Diminisher. I imagine as more and more components come online that there will be next generation Mass reduction componentry, so this is a pretty cool idea!

I propose a rare Narvidian Mass Inverter that reduces ship mass, but the gravitational anomaly really increases your chance of run-ins with Xeno.
