Just curious, I see it has some 800 reviews on steam and constantly 500+ ingame. That´s pretty huge for a indie title imo, many titles never have "green numbers" (more than 300 ppl playing).
Does it exceed your expectations or is it pretty much what you expected?

It far exceeded our expectations, to be honest. I expected we would peak around 300 concurrent players. Honestly there were many hours this weekend I could not believe what I was seeing. When we hit 1000 players I was jumping around the room yelling incoherently.
We have had a lot of players who bought during Early Access return to play. The concurrent numbers reflect that.
I think there was a population of fans of the genre that purchased on sales or during EA launch that didn't really play until now.
I am buying a new computer. We've been putting that off for a while, this one was made in 2010. I will be happy to have a hardware refresh.

Haha congrats. Wonder if some of the big sites except RPS will write about it. And holy shit a 2010 rig... I replaced my 4gb, 3ghz dualcore with cheap graphics card last year for the whole i7 gtx1080 32gb ram package, you won't regret it ^^

Dual Quad Core 2.4Ghz with 12GB RAM
I close Chrome to do builds of STF, because if I don't I get OutOfMemory crashes.

It far exceededWhen we hit 1000 players I was jumping around the room yelling incoherently. Ahh the joy of success! Well deserved! The game delivered what most players want in a huge way: A fun and challenging game but one that can be played in a style of their own choosing without having to contend with too many restrictive artificial boundaries. This is really hard to do for a dev but you guys pulled it off! Great progress in the audio department didnt hurt the cause either. Much better job at mass media/getting the word out and that probably helped a lot. The last remaining great boundary to the true mass audience is of course modern gfx but that might be a longer term goal if ever. Yeap, it's Steam, so a mountain of cheap/affordable games, it's very common for players there to buy games just because they are on sale just to add them to their library but yet never really play them till much later.

Last I saw we had a peak of 1,111 concurrent players. Neat number.
