This is sort of complicated idea, but it came to me while having the heir on board. Hopefully I'll be able to spell it out clearly. The idea is to have a similar type mission where you have to escort someone fleeing Bounty Hunters. It would have the added feature of a threat timer. The threat timer would be represented as a bar that fills from left to right with each turn. Each turn adds something to the bar which starts green and means you are unlikely to encounter a BH. As you get to about 60% it turns yellow and you have an elevated chance of encountering a BH. At 75% the bar shows orange and you have very high chance of being intercepted by a BH. At 85 or 90% it goes red and they will be all over you.
The fun part is that you can also reduce the bar and bring the threat level down. The biggest way to do this is by Hyperwarp jumping. Jumping to the previous quadrant would only give a tiny relief. Jumping to another previously visited quadrant would give a better reward and jumping to a wholly new quadrant would give even better heat mitigation. Jumping to Wild quads could also give better mitigation. There could be other things to. I was thinking that exploring might be essentially neutral. No threat gain or loss, or maybe it could even be worked into the card game. The point of it all is to have some mechanic that would force the captain to keep moving. That would simulate the idea of being hunted where obviously staying on the move is going to help.
Anyways, I don't know if it's even possible.

Cool idea for sure! Perhaps something we can add as a future vignette. Bringing people on board and suffering the consequences has been very fun so far.
