New Component (Alternatively make it a special type of Jump Drive) Idea is it reduces/negates the damage from using talents like Skip off the Void. Penalty - Increased Jump cost Penalty - High Cost Penalty - Requires High Starport rating and Military Rank to buy Penalty - Requires Component space (only if implemmemted as new component type instead of new Jump Drive) Bonus - Reduced/Negated damage from use of talents Bonus - improved Ship Ops pool Bonus - Improved Electronics pool Bonus - Improved Navigation pool Bonus - Improved Pilot pool

I like the concept of a hyperdrive that reduces damage from those talents, but I don't think it should have superior skill dice. If they already have a cool specialization, giving them the best dice pools too sounds like it'd be OP.
It might be a good candidate for late/high-tech era technology.

Reason I was suggesting it as a separate component instead of just an additional type of drive. Idea being that it would connect with the normal drives and provide additional control and buffering of the systems but at the cost of requiring a component slot. Agree that regardless of how it would be added/balanced it is more of a mid-late game type upgrade than something likely to be seen in the early game era's.

The only problem is: how does it stack? If it isn't a drive, it'd have to have some way to have multiples be meaningful, right?
