Ship upgrades.and refitting suggestion

One of the things that can be a huge timesink in the game is how long it takes to refit/upgrade a new ship after purchase.

I was wondering if there might be some kind of option to speed this up - at a cost, of course?


Some random thoughts on the matter:

1) Allow fast upgrades at a premium - say 20% faster for 50% higher cost.

2) Lock the option into services provided by a contact - maybe the contact types that provide discounts to upgrades and/or repairs. This would require and cost rep as well as cash.

3) Could possibly have some kind of malfunction chance as a result of a "rush job".

My suggestion is look for worlds with a high Starport rating. That reduces upgrade/repair times

I think a "rush" work order at a premium might be interesting as a contact service, as you mention. I'd be down for that.
