I've been plugging away are getting all the unlocks on my phone. There are still a lot that don't have rewards and many of them are the harder ones. It would encourage me and maybe others in the community to go for these hard unlocks if there were some sweet rewards. Right now rewards seem limited starting contacts, starting profession and starting ship. It would be fun to think outside of the box a little and see what other rewards we could think. All are welcome to post their reward suggestions. It doesn't have to be limited to new types either, if you have a sweet ship you would like as an unlockable starter, throw it on here!

The first thing I thought about was different traits. For example. Xeno Slayer could give all of your starting combat crew the Fleet Footed trait (if that's too OP, maybe just Brave).
I would never turn down extra starting cash.
Starting ship weapon upgrade. I think all ships start with torps right? Why not bump them up to level 3 or 4?
Starting special crew. This might have to have a toggle, but if I could could get a smuggler or extra doc on my crew at the start that would be pretty cool.
EDIT: Oh, and I think if we get all Faen based unlocks it should unlock the creepy uncle. He would just be another person that we could interact with in the Faen court that would have his own take on all the drama. He wouldn't have missions, just extra dialogue.

Some of the ships aren't starter ships. They cost way too much.
I'd like a reward for having +some-large-number rep with all the houses/clans or all the syndicates. And then a very expensive reward for doing that.

This is very likely on the horizon once we pass through a few more rings of the roadmap. It wouldn't be standard traits like Fleet Footed, but a second set of Captain-only Traits that you could swap into, granted that you've unlocked them.

I too would like to see some unlockable rewards for attaining high enough reputation with a given faction, or Houses/Syndicates collectively. Heck, having a massively negative score could trigger an unlock as well (my Alta Mesa Captain managed -2000 with Rychart).

Yep, both are on the list. Sorry, we work as fast as we can. We'll keep working to improve. Funny that the title is "reward suggestions" -- our focus is on finishing KickStarter rewards atm Priorities, priorities.

Also the point of the thread was not "Award Suggestions" i.e. things you would like to accomplish, but "Reward Suggestions" i.e. what would you like to receive for unlocking things.
Two more thoughts on that front:
Some starting gear for the captain?
Or maybe more in the vein of unlocks, some unlockable gear or ship upgrade classes. I guess it could be one upgrade, like we had in STRPG or maybe a unique class of weapons/gear, that would offer something at multiple levels.

I'd like some gear to improve stats that could be used by fighter non-officers. I have this char whom I thought would make a terrific sniper, but oh how the low wisdom (14 -- his only stat under 25) is hurting his initiative. A really focused dose of this-wisdom-improving-stat would make him very happy, too.

What I would really like as a reward is an interview room. Temporarily lets you hold 3 crew (new recruits), even if this pushes your crew count to more than what your barracks allows. You must reduce your crew to what your barracks can hold before you leave the planet.

Gear to help you discover what your Mysterious and Secretive ones have as traits would be welcome, too. Something that boosts the odds things when you used a talent of that sort, perhaps?

I'd like a salvage reward which is a mysterious weapon to try to use on my ship. You have to use it for a while before its capabilities are revealed to you. Some of them won't be good abilities. Would you use a weapon that lowers morale for both your crew and your enemies? What about one that shoots great but makes the ship stink of dead skunk for 6 weeks if you use it?

I think unique gear would be a good reward. Also, I love the idea of adding an additional specialist crew member at start. My personal most wanted is an extra officer slot on my Stellar Falcon...

I've been a Chaesin Doctor for 150 years, and I thought I had seen everything. But the other day a Star Trader and her entire officer quartet requested the same particular trait modification, for themselves and their entire crew. I was expecting 'Combat Nerves' or 'Voidsick', but no -- they wanted to know if I could 'completely remove the ability to smell, ah, anything'.
