This goes along with another RFE I just made, but is slightly different.
I would love it if contacts/factions demanded our participation in conflicts. It could be contingent on whether we have trade permits, rank, edict etc. but it seems fitting that, if we have Military Rank and benefits, we would be expected to participate in a Solar War or Trade War for our faction. Penalties wouldn't have to be severe, but enough to incentivize participation; maybe just some faction or personal rep loss, maybe loss of a permit/rank/edict?
I'm not exactly sure how this could implemented. One idea would simply be that a contact would refuse any services until we accept a conflict related mission. It wouldn't have to be every contact either. Maybe those especially with the Zealot trait would refuse service? It could also be that the player would lose rep with a faction at the conflict resolution based on its outcome. It could be very automatic too i.e. a captain with military rank automatically loses rep. with said faction when they lose a military/trade war. That could be regardless of participation or not. A dynamic like this would also make life much more interesting for those who want to be friends with everybody.

Nice use of 'Interesting' as a synonym for 'Difficult', Contributor ...

Cool suggestions, thanks for posting it! Perhaps certain Contact types would simply only offer Conflict Missions if you had Rank/Permit/Edict.
