Hi everyone,
So ive been rolling around on a Spy based mission running captain and have been doing quite well. Im starting to feel like perhaps im hitting my mid game and so im looking for suggestions on which ship I could upgrade to. FYI I started with a Paladin Cruiser. I mostly avoid ship combat and use my away team when im rarely forced to do so for mission combat. What would you suggest as a mid to late game ship for this build. I think ill transition into more ship combat as the games on perhaps but mostly I have my weapon slots filled with triple arc signal arrays. I use a weapons locker A5 for combat gear and a small prion cell with small passenger compartment. Everything else is still stock on my boat.

I liked the Reach Cruiser for my midgame spy ship (and indeed, the late game spy ship as well). I removed most of its combat capability except for a couple of torpedo launchers and went whole-hog on scanners and electronics boosters. Playing on Hard, almost nothing could land a hit on us, because nothing could see us. We could even manage to get in close and conduct boarding runs with nothing laying on a hand on us but xenos, and those we'd just run away from ASAFP.
Come to think though, the Arcanum freighter might've been a better choice, as we dabbled in smuggling too. That extra small slot could've been another scanner, and we rarely got hit enough to necessitate the extra medium slot on the Reach Cruiser.
