So, are multiple launch bays simply for redundancy? I know that you need hangar space for each strike craft, but can one launch bay launch everything in a single turn (assuming you have the reactor points)? In that case, multiple bays are good for redundancy, because battle damage can shut it down, correct? What happens to craft if they can't land? Do they hang around outside the ship, possibly getting shot down? Thanks for giving this a look, folks. --Scrod

The benefit is mostly to get another hanger but with a large slot instead of a medium slot, in the event that you want your medium slots for something else.

I think it would make sense for the number of Launch Bays to determine the maximum amount of craft the ship is able to deploy in a single turn (aside from Reactor Points).

Eh, then small craft would need a buff to compensate. But that's how I imagined small craft working initially too.

Redundancy. Using large slots.

Awesome. I appreciate the responses.
And confirmed that one bay can launch multiple strike craft.
Still haven't managed to get the bay damaged enough to cease functioning while strike craft are deployed though. Can the strike craft land anyway, even if your launch bays are broken?

Yes, they can still land. There is a rule that will be added down the line as we balance and rule things out about generating craft damage and Maintenance Points based on the condition of the least damaged bay.
