What is the equation for crew salary?

It seems that, barring traits that impact it, there's one or two equations for salary, right? Crew versus officer and both as a function of level?

I'm trying to finish off this page: startraders.gamepedia.com/Credits . Can I get the details on this sans traits?

Outside of Traits, pay rate increases $1/level.

Officers start at $40, crew at $20.

Promote raises to $40 minimum.

Doesn't seem to be accurate. Don't know if its a bug, but for me pay increases 1$ a year and only increases per level for certain traits.

Also, not all starting crew start at 20$. E techs are (unfairly) only paid 15$ and fighter crew get 30$
