Idea for a story vignette based on Syndicate Capital's unique political situation:
Political instability threatens De Valtos' popularity in an election for the Syndicate Board of Directors, and by extension, threatens their license to control Syndicate Capital.
Either Rychart or Cadar is randomly selected by the story vignette to make a ploy for control of the Syndicate Board of Directors (and by extension, Syndicate Capital).
The player could help the usurper faction, or help DV keep control. If the player does nothing or helps the usurper Syndicate, the usurper Syndicate gains temporary control of Syndicate Capital until the next election (however many years that is). All non-government contacts on Syndicate Capital switch to whatever new faction is controlling the world, and government contacts (Prince, Military Commander, etc.) are forced out of office and are removed as contacts. The successful usurper Syndicate gets involved in a Spy War if Rychart or a Trade War if Cadar against DV while starting in the lead with more points, and gets involved in a Trade Alliance with the Syndicate that isn't DV.
If the player helps De Valtos keep control, they get a huge rep bonus with DV and a P rep and influence bonus with Syndicate Capital's prince, and a unique reward, perhaps in the form of a unique officer, gear, or perhaps being granted access to an experimental line of De Valtos ship components.
