Thanks.
I've read these boards for a week or two now but finally registered to say that this is easily the greatest phone game ive ever run across.
ST and CK are now the only games on my phone. I've only played about 4 or so hours on ST before I bought CK on principle alone, to support the makers. I played CK for about 6 hours before I bought TA. Wasn't much interested in TA but I was too lazy to find a donate button. I've got 15 or so dead captains now(i am still new to the game but refuse to play below Demanding).
With that said I'm hoping I could ask a few questions:
1. I couldn't stand any games for the phone. I'd given up on all downloaded games through Market, and had resorted to trying to playing XCOM on DosBox. For a guy who has run through many, many, android/ios games, but has deleted all but ST/CK, what games would you recommend?
2. How bad is it if i go to the tips section and make a thread asking my questions about the game, when 60% could probably be found using the search button? The game is poorly documented (take that as a praise of depth), and sometimes i need a clarification, but going through the forums i tend to stumble on super-tips and fun-ruining-knowledge. It's a single player game, so half the fun is figuring shit out on my own. fearing spoilers i want a selfish question thread; fearing a ban i thought i'd ask first.
3. where is the donate button. ive stolen every game that didnt need a multiplayer key since i was 10. ST is such a rare gem in a field of shit that even a miser like me knows he is getting more out of this than he paid for.

Welcome to the forum! I'm glad you like the games.
To you first question, the only good game like the Trese Brother productions that I have found is Command Crisis.
To your second question, the mods here are the farthest things from asses. Everyone one of your questions will be answered by both them and other players. From what I understand, they only ban for illegal activity, immoral things (like racism or rudeness), and advertising. Making your own thread is a great way to get your questions answered.
To your last question, I do not think that there is an official donate button. For more information, you should talk to one of the mods (Cory Trese, fallen, slayernz).
Enjoy!

Hey Freedomhater, welcome to the forum and thanks heaps for purchasing the game! I can guarantee that the $2 you spent on ST will equate to less than $0.001 per hour of enjoyment. Me - I started playing ST back in December, 2010, and played it almost exclusively until around August or so. TB games have been described as digital crack and the fix is G-R-E-A-T! So to your questions ... 1) I actually haven't found anything as enthralling as ST on Android. The closest thing to "I can play this forever and ever" is on the PC and is Open Transport Tycoon, but that's because I'm old and used to playing things that aren't optimized for DirectX 11 Recently I played Gem Miner 2, but that was just to kill time. You don't have to think when it comes to digging dirt. 2) I've been participating in the forums here since Feb 2011, and WRT ST, there are actually few things that come up now that haven't come up sometime in the distant past in some form or other, but I actually like seeing them reappear (most of the time ). The questions asked represents some new person to the game - and I LOVE seeing the forum/user base grow. Also, questions asked means I have to re-think about what the possible solutions can be. Answers I gave in April 2011 are almost certainly different to what I give now, because I've had more time to learn things about the game, and Cory has made countless improvements. Further, if hundreds of people ask the same thing, it's information that Cory can address - it means that there is some fundamental thing that he needs to focus on in the near future. And that's I guess another thing. Cory and Andrew are constantly reading the forum as it's a way to gauge the pulse of the users of their creations. If there is noise about something that they can address, they almost always try and tackle it as a priority. I've seen a change implemented within 2 days of someone mentioning something in the forum! That's responsiveness. 3. I know exactly what you mean but TB have consciously NOT included a donate button in their software because they've don't want to be seen as greedy bastards out to make a fortune by conning people into coughing up cash. Actually I don't think it's quite that extreme a view, but the integrity levels that the TBs exhibit is fantastic. They are happy for you to buy their games as a way to support them, as you are getting something in return. Me, I'd love to be able to donate something in a one-off way (more than just $2 for a game purchase). Maybe we can keep pestering them on getting some donate thing setup

^a moderator. The best way to donate is by buying all three of the games or going to Corey's house and forcing him to accept cash at gunpoint.

I could tell you about the time I hunted the Bros. down and held them at gun point while forcing cash into their hands, but.....er, what's that? Oh, nevermind then.

I don't think that anybody would mind a 'donate' button on the title screen. So in ST, say chaning the bottom row of buttons to be 'more games' 'options' 'donate' and 'quit'
It's when in game characters tell you of the joys of spending real cash that people get irritated.

Makes me happy to hear you you say this.
I feel that same way -- many many hours of enjoyment on the forum and playing the game myself.
