was a limit on ship fleets imposed?

Before the latest release I had a fleet of 29 ships. I checked and noticed I only had 20.

When I went shopping for new models I learned I now can only trade in a model to purchase a new model. Was this new limit intentional or inadvertent?

Yep, I know I get dinged on karma even when I post compliments but how else do you actually ask questions?

I will check around more but so far under the updates thread I didn't see this mentioned. I know a couple other players have posted in the past they like to use their credits collecting ships. So I assume there may be at least a couple others this may effect. Particularly those that like me don't play under permadeath.

I'm gussing this is intentional. Your limit is 20 ships. If you want a new ship, you have to sell one of your old ships or trade in your current ship.

If you get dinged on karma every time you post, maybe it has to do with your attitude and not your topic. Fish for the negative, and you will find it very easily. If your target audience receives your message, then ignore everyone else instead of stirring things up. Not everyone appreciates internet drama.

For this particular thread I didn't notice that much of a negetive attitude. Maybe because you mentioned permadeath. Or maybe most of your threads are complaints? (I don't know for sure why anyone dinged you I'm just speculating. Again, I exalted you because I don't think you or anyone else should have -3 karma)

Thanks for the exalt. I did question permadeath before most current posters were even playing the game. I guess the limit was just added because I had a fleet of 29 ships.

Limit has been 20 Ships in Elite since it was released, hasn't changed since the initial release.

I have triple checked the code -- really not sure if it is even technically possible to have 29 ships in the saved game format -- I forced it and the game Force Closed.

Forget the karma. It says nothing in my opinion.

LOL @fenisko. Cory I didn't start building the huge fleet until I saw I was getting close to becoming a ghost again about... 3-5 releases back. Ghosts can't buy repairs but can swap out owned ships. I had up to 29. It may have just have been a bug back while you guys were working so hard to fix the repeat freeze bug.

No biggie I've also found that the repeat blockade issue is much less likely to cause a freeze if you slow your repeats.
This is the first time I recall at least having a pilot officer so I'm trying now to build pilot friendly ships. Before I was building for the greatest possible holds.
