I boarded aliens, lost 1 HP so my Health was 9. Then I surrendered and got the game over screen. I had an escape shuttle. This is the second time I had an escape shuttle and it didn't protect me when surrendering to aliens. PLEASE FIX! I lost an lv77 merchant due to this glitch

As far as I knew, the Escape Shuttle only protects against Hull crush death - either when you ram their ship but yours disintegrates, or you run out of Hull points from enemy torpedo and/or gun fire. Someone else correct me if I am wrong?

No the escape shuttle is supposed to protect from exuction death as well. Cory even states specificly that the escape shuttle protects the captain from exeuction by aliens.

Always trust a programmer to leave an easter egg somewhere if he has a sense of humor.

Cory is traveling right now and will appear ... soon, to answer this question. Unless a forum member ( slayernz?) has a definite answer.

This is the second time I had an escape shuttle and it didn't protect me when surrendering to aliens. PLEASE FIX! I lost an lv77 merchant due to this glitch I don't know, just did a bunch of testing and this doesn't look like a Glitch to me. I would strongly suggest avoiding Surrendering to Aliens, best to fight to the death and use the Escape Shuttle that way. Again, for any other forum members -- the Escape Shuttle is working just fine in all 56 test cases we have for it.

Escape Shuttle Protects vs. the following defeat types:
- Hull Crushed - Executed
The Escape Shuttle does not protect against the following defeats:
- Dead from 0 HP - Dead from 0 Crew

I couldn't fight to the death. I tred raming but they dodged it and went straight to boarding. If I fought to the death my HP would become 0.
How about a new "escape shuttle" button? You would automaticly, no matter the circumstances, go back to the map with the escape shuttle. There wouldn't even be a game over or exeucted screen. Also, if I'm going to be imprisoned, and I have 10,000,000 credits, id rather use an escape shutle and buy a new ship than be imprisoned and lose 5,000,000. You wouldn't be surrendering, you'd just go right into the escape shuttle and escape, so you would be guarenteed to not die as you wouldn't be surrendering. Maybe to balance this new featue out, you can have increased alien encounters while flying in escape shuttle? After all, ithe purpose of aliens in st is to get players to despise them, and what better way thean having them show up whem your most volnurable?
Would it help if I read to you the last log of the captain?

My health was 9, so dying from 0 HP couldn've happend. Dying from 0 crew couldnt've happend either, cause I had 9 health so I would still be on board, therfor there would still be 1 crew.

You wouldn't be surrendering, you'd just go right into the escape shuttle and fly away, so being at 1HP wouldn't be a problem. I like this idea, although it is reasonable you might lose 1 or 2 HP in the fight to get to the shuttle.

I surrendered to a narvadian ship at short range, didn't even board. Game over screen. If this is a bug, I can log it and send it if it'll help. If this is a rule, maybe you can change it so it'll work if you surrender against aliens, and to balance it out make escape shuttles increase alien encounters by 10X or 50X.
