I surrendered to a narvadian ship at short range, didn't even board. Game over screen. If this is a bug, I can log it and send it if it'll help. If this is a rule, maybe you can change it so it'll work if you surrender against aliens, and to balance it out make escape shuttles increase alien encounters by 10X or 50X. I guess I need to do more testing -- I have used the ES vs. Alien and Narvidian many times on many versions and devices and looking at the code I am thinking there is either a bug that has existed for 1.5 years or there is something else at play here (Hull Crushed? HP = 0?) |

Having escape shuttle protect captain vs. Alien surrender would be way too overbalanced in my opinion, unless there would be some type of penalty to balance it out, like escape shuttle = 50X alien encounsers. Otherwize, I could get to lv 10000 simply by being freinds with all factions and having escape shuttles.
Hull crushed = 0 HP isn't the problem. I've gotten hull breached from aliens vIa ram plenty of times, and the escape shuttle works out fine.

Yeah and there is no way to add something that increased Alien encounters by a multiplier.
Anyway, sounds like this is wrapped up at least from my perspective on the current ST rules.

Why can't you make inreased aliens when in escape shuttle? You could make increased aliens when carrying artifacts and when over dead planets.
Anyways, if you can't, could you make ALL phones not portect captain for surrender vs. Aliens with ES? Its not fair that some phones protect you and some don't.

I don't think it's device specific at this time. It appears to be equal on all devices, however, variant based on many in-game factors like Hull, HP, Ship, Sector, Difficulty, etc. Increased aliens with dead planets and artifacts is how that part of the game universe is structured. You already have the game universe on your phone and unfortunately many parts of the data structure cannot be modified without you re-building the game universe (and in the process, deleting all the scores/characters/unlocks) using a different version. Therefore, I cannot make this change because I will not take any risk that has even the slightest, tiniest chance of corrupting player saved games and captains. There could be the best most perfect idea ever and if it required corrupting player saved games I would reject it immediately. The cost of this would simply be too high. May I propagate the legend/myth of Superphone? A prototype Android device created somewhere in the EU for the sole purpose of having a Random() tuned specifically to produce unstoppable Star Traders? A device so flawed that it has bugs that masquerade as features. I even hear that if you pull the battery it can still play ST RPG. |
