I've noticed when I recruit new crew and take all that is available on a planet - if I then view a rumour at the spice hall, more crew will be available to recruit. I can pick up a fiull complement of crew quite eaily this way by repeating the process.
One thing it would be useful to see is how many credits you have when browsing new ships and upgrades. Currently I have to keep switching screens to check my balance.

Sorry, could I just bump this one. It's turning into a bit of a deal breaker and wondering if it is just me? Now my eye's may be shot(?, but I don't think so), but it is incredibly frustrating to have to squint and pull the ipad closer each and everytime some narrative text comes up . That text often then sitting in the mind of some vast blankness of screen estate. I appreciate that this might be an impact of trying to deal with iphone screens, but even so. I think I only need to point you to the screenshots on the itunes store to illustrate what I mean. Any chance you guys could look at this? Thanks. Spent several hours this afternoon looking into this report. An upcoming release will include much larger fonts for iPad. This thread is also inspiring me to go back and re-do all the Android Tablet UI as well. Thats great news... Although perhaps not that it's taken you several hours. Look forward to seeing the result once it gets through apples submission process.

Don't know if anybody has mentioned it anywhere else or encountered this but the stats/advantages/disadvantages from character classes don't seem to work. If I make a pirate/captain/merchant/star trader I always get the same stats and if I'm playing pirate and do a mission against Independents I notice my crew morale dropping.
Also water tanks doesn't seem to work as I installed the upgrade but if I buy water/fuel it still counts towards the normal storage count and the water tank didn't increase that number.
PS this is all on elite edition, don't know if it's the same on lite since I upgraded 5mins into the 1st game.

drekx - we have resolved the water (weapons, spy...) tank issues for a near-term release. Thanks for the report about professions, we have heard that from other channels as well, and it is issue number iST-679. We will fix as fast as Apple will let us post updates, so please be patient with us.

Some of the character speciality skills (Bounty Hunter, Pirate) aren't working correctly in the current release. It also appears that the starting skills are incorrect. However, the majority of the character's special rules and bonuses are in effect. We're working on fixing up the last 20% or so of them in the upcoming releases. Some depend on buttons (like Bounty Hunter) some on oversights I made during the programming.

Team -- v1.0.3 just landed on the App Store! We hope that you will upgrade because some of the issues discussed in this thread are fixed (see the "What's New") and more content has been added as well. We are working diligently to prepare the next update which will fix even more of the issues reported here.
