On the iPad 1 I can not get planet info from the star map. If I click the ship moves there. If I click and hold nothing happens. If I double click it sets the planet as destination. I tried triple clicks, two finger clicks, double clicks with different pause durations, nothing works. I have the Elite expansion installed but it didn't work before or after Elite.
By the way when I say click I mean tap with the finger. Old habits.
Thanks and regards.

Logged this one as ST-665.
We're planning on improving that zoom map and sector menu interface very soon.
Added this new report to the plan to make sure that it gets fixed in iPad as well.
Thanks for the posts, welcome to the forum. If you create an account I can +1 you for all these great reports.
Thanks again,
Cory

Making progress on this. Upcoming release should support a "Long Press" to get the planet or sector info.

Best thing about this game is the Trese bros, no question about it.

I am really glad this isn't just me not understanding the game! I get contracts or just want to figure out "what is that planet?" and touch it and my ship goes there! That stopped me dead, went to the players guide pdf trying to figure it out. (Oh, I'm on an iPad3.)
So - if I get a contract, and I need to go to a planet, how do I know where that planet is since I can't touch and get info on what planet is what?

Yes, I have this bug as well. Weird thing is it that it actually worked in one session... Now my ship flies there always, long or short press.. Makes it very difficult as I can not really remember the planet names. Contact NAV function seems also bugged. Would be nice if I the game would support also landscape instead of portrait only, possible? Tried by the way registering to this forum using ipad chrome three times, complains about a wrong form... That proboards app ad is jumping at me every second

Not contact, but behind status and contracts you have the NAV button, which seems not to work consistently. By the way what is included in the Elite version? You shoul at least advertise it a bit more to get people to buy it

So - if I get a contract, and I need to go to a planet, how do I know where that planet is since I can't touch and get info on what planet is what? On our iPad 3 here is what I do in this situation. 1. From map, press the "Ship" icon to launch the bridge 2. From the bridge view, press the Status button 3. From the status view, press the Contracts button 4. Scroll through the contracts and click "nav" 5. Press Back button to return to the map 6. Press the "Go Arrow" icon to plot the course to the contract Honestly, even with the long-press for details feature you will still want to do it the way I describe above, especially in Elite. With a few hundred planets and a lot of different types of missions you'll be long pressing a lot trying to find the definition. That is why the Captain keeps a list of the Contracts in Status. Hopefully that helps. Either way, the ability to see Sector details from afar is coming to iPhone and iPad with a "long press" in an upcoming release. Thanks!

You guys certainly seem committed enough by responding so fast, maybe I'll just buy the elite and wait for a few ipad updates to come along

There is a quick button to jump to contracts in Android 's tablet UI and we'll be bringing it to the iPad as soon as possible.
