I am running a pretty old Samsung Infuse that had FROYO on it, and after my phone geek buddies talked me into it, I upgraded to Gingerbread. In doing so, it seems I have lost the ability to pull my roster down from cloud storage. Any Ideas? ps. I know this is my fault, so I don't expect anyone to go out of their way for me... Im just hoping you have an idea why it isnt working.

They probably broke the Android Backup Service. They need to re-enable Android Backup/Restore services. There are several ways to go it, but I know there are hundreds of different ROM and upgrade path. I'd get on Google and see what you can find

You'll need to uninstall, enable cloud backup, reinstall.
Your carrier will only support cloud sync for supported versions of the Android OS for your device.
That is the only way you can get around needing INTERNET permission and still access the internet.
