Descriptor for the award is specific, on crazy. However, either I'm not sure I understand or it's overly exact and I'd like to understand.
My understanding is to have 2 factions which regard you as Hated criminal for 22 years of game play.
Does it have to be that level, or any level there or below? How can one keep accurate count of the time at the level? If its that ranking or below, I've been there or worse (can anyone spell legendary criminal?) and earned my century award. Having fun, but would love to get the dark nemesis award and see what is sharper than a Serpent's Tooth. Anyone with insight or advice?

Great question and welcome to the forum. I can assure you, Dark Nemesis is working and doesn't have any bugs. That said, it is one of the tricky ones. The Award and the Unlock are different things -- the unlock requires a certain difficulty and the Award requires certain criteria. You have to be both a SYNDICATE and CLAN 'Wanted Criminal' and it does not count 'Hated Criminal' (the Reputation level) of any particular Faction. So -- you must have 2 Skull Flags (Wanted Criminal) in your Faction Status. Fastest way to get to this is get 2-3 of the Syndicates to Hated Criminal and 2-3 of the Clans to Hated Criminal. If you earn the Award on Crazy, you'll get the Unlock because Crazy is harder than the minimum difficulty. Hope this helps. Added this to our list of Awards to make a video tutorial about. I have attached a screenshot of one Hated Criminal Flag -- it shows at the bottom of the screenshot as a Skull Flag. The character I posted is loved by all Clans and despised by the Syndicates. These Skull Flags (Hated Criminal Status) are what are measured by Dark Nemesis, not the individual Faction reputation levels like "Legendary Criminal" or "Star Hero." Hope the screenshot helps! Many thanks- lots of little ins and outs to learn.
As it turns out, having a flag for the syndicates, while having all clan houses at 200+, did not pose so much of a problem. I dropped one clan house down precipitously by blockading during a solar war against 2 or 3 others, and attacking its ships when they ventured out.
At only -27 rep with Thulun, I earned the second skull flag and the Dark Nemesis. Woot.
Interesting playing for multiple different goals.

Good job!
Next challenge would be the Black Heart challenge, or Independent Captain challenge. -121 rep with all 6 factions can lead to a very interesting game, especially if you attempt it early in the game (within the first few thousand turns).
