What do you die the most from? What is the most common cause of your death? You canr reply with specifics if you want.
EDIT: If you always die by aliens, choose "execution (aliens)". I wanted to change that option to just "aliens" but I'm not able to change it. So "execution (aliens)" = aliens via hull breach, boarding, or execution

Vented hull. Weather its guns or torps, I usually die in combat or when escaping combat. Second would be execution by faction or death in boarding. Then Aliens.

Stupidity, mostly. aka getting complacent and not keeping a close enough eye on my captain's health.

Huh. I thought for sure the most common death among players would be ram and aliens. didn't think they were players that actually died by gun and torp more than by ram, board and aliens. Thats very interesting.

Seems to me all-too-easy to fall into a play-style and always end up getting whacked by the same thing. You've got to keep switching it up.

But to DIE by torpedo more than anything. I've never encountered an enemy AI that torped more than a few times before closing range. I guess if the enemy can't close they countinue to torp. And I alwayes invest at least a little in stealth. When you don't, maybe enemies just keep torping until your dead. Never happened to me though.
At lower levels torp and gun is probably a bigger threat. But by the time your at lv80 or so the only real threat (assuming you balanced your skiills right) is ram or board. Invest high enough in pilot/stealth (even just some) and you won't DIE by torpedo. Ram and board however....

Ram has gotten me to. Combat in general really is where I usually die. And getting greedy when I see an alien and forgetting to check its level. Lvl 5 Zorga is significantly different from a lvl50+ Zorga :-ยข

how do people die from exploration? you have 1 health so you stop exploring! when playing insane i usually die early game before i have momentum. i don't have the money to hold out for trade embargoes to lift so some factions start to hate me. when they inspect/pirate me i don't yet have a ship worthy for combat so i fumble around trying to get some combo momentum and end up getting my hull rammed into useless shards. if i have low heath i could easily got killed in a duel. the only way i die mid to late game is aliens. with my explorer/trader play style my reputation is through the roof with everyone. i buy fast ships + pilot for long distance travel. my current ship for my main player right now has 68 sails with that many sails i confidently go into battle just to asses the rare potential Independent enemy. i've never seen a ship that could catch me if i instantly retreat. except aliens of course... i avoid them like the plague.

It has been proposed many times that Impossible allows only 5 HP

And a higher level than that called Suicidal with only 2 HP (would be 1 but then Explorers would die in job lots) ;D

Hah! I wish we could add another difficulty. Sadly, the scale was designed as an inverse, so Impossible is "0" and Basic is "8" ... we could add an easier level but none harder than Impossible. Alas -- more reasons to expand the game catalog with all the lessons learned

Over confidence when exploring or forgeting to heal before torping . . . An the rare low level captin meets aliens and thinks "hmmm cool ship. I would look good flying that"

Stupidity, mostly. aka getting complacent and not keeping a close enough eye on my captain's health. "I came here to say that!" But honestly it really is Dumb-assed-ness... My playstyle of "Im Cadar, screw all yall !!!" only works just so long. =P

I am ashamed to say that I'm the first person to vote mutiny. I never used to pay much attention to water fuel

I did suggest a Crew blender ship upgrade where you can use crew "liquid" as an alternate supply of fuel, but Cory didn't buy in on the idea.
