Calling all spacers to the Dread Pirate Community Challenge
Monday May 13 - Monday May 20
The idea is basically to define a style of play, create a method of scoring it and play for a certain period of time. This is a friendly challenge, not meant for the elite only. All are welcome to play at one of two levels; The Curator Class will play at difficulty demanding and the Titan Class will play at difficulty crazy. The most important thing is to have fun!
The Rules:
1) Captain profession must be Pirate
2) You may only buy ships listed as "pirate" ships. You can also fly any ship you have taken in battle.
3) You can restart your captain anytime before level 15. After 15, when you die, your score is final.
4) After level 10 you may only take capture or destroy contracts.
5) Spying is not permitted, but blockading is.
6) You may not play with an existing captain. They must be started new on May 13th or later.
7) Turns are capped at 10,000. You will be disqualified if you exceed 10,100! Turns can be viewed by looking at your captain through the roster from the main menu.
The Scoring:
The number of ships looted PLUS your credits divided by 10,000. However, score from credits may not exceed your score from looting ships.
Example: Say you finish with 300 looted ships and 3,500,000 credits. Your total score will be 600: 300 from looted ships PLUS 300 for credits. The extra 50 you would have had in credits does not count because it exceeds your ships looted.

USE THIS THREAD TO announce your intention to play and give occasional updates on your score. Announce your captain name and a brief bio if you want, also include whether you are playing in the Curator Class (Demanding) or Titan Class (Crazy). We'll try to keep this thread somewhat clean so people can get an idea of who is playing and what scores are coming in.

Was sad to leave behind hundreds of cargo (mainly WF), but I did manage to take 39 Electronics that I sold immediately (before getting robbed or confiscated). I think Metalbeard is off to a great start!
