I'm trying to make a go of a game on: - Impossible
- Star Trader captain
- House Javat affiliation
- Vae Victus starting ship
Is that the hardest I can make it for myself?

Cadar or Steel Song Merchant. With the Iron Merchant's code.

With the Iron Merchant's code. Haven't heard of that. Is it an in-game option or a play style?

Yikes. That's a bit ambitious at this point!

Ok for a slightly less difficult challenge, you could try downgrading the Vae Victus to a basic shuttle.

Is Merchant generally the most difficult profession to get off the ground? It seems to receive fewer contract offers, but maybe that's just my perception.

I would say that the apperio is more difficult for starting ship than the VV

I would say that the apperio is more difficult for starting ship than the VV I find that the Aperio's fuel consumption puts it streets ahead of the VV on Impossible. The biggest challenge for me is keeping crew morale up until the captain gets enough money to stay refueled.

So, is there any functional difference between professions, beyond their special abilities and officer bonuses?
As I mentioned above, the merchant seems to receive fewer contract offers. Or is that my imagination?
