I'd like there to be another option besides 'kill' and 'accept payoff'.

also for the other payoffs, of course.

Maybe with a bonus for these negotiation/threat due to positive rep with the faction the squad is from (like :"you know that the bosses will have your head if you bother me too much")

Or as part of bluffing, maybe you can buy dummy packages to unload in these encounters and if you succeed, need to get out of the area to cool off. Otherwise you get higher chance of a repeat encounter without the threaten/bluff option; people don't like playing the part of the fool twice :-)

Awesome, thanks all for the great suggestions. I've taken the feedback in and fixed up a few things.
1) Negotiate options are available if the enforcers are ambushing you and want to kill you. Reputation bonuses now apply to your Threaten roll as well, and now actually calculate the right number. There are now 4 possible actions here and 2 notices!
2) If the enforcers are trying to pay you off, Negotiate is used in accepting the bribe and increases the price. The Threaten option has been added and it gets a bonus from positive Reputation. Same - 4 possible actions and 2 notices!

fallen : didn't you said that you were taking a break on system improvement ?  Those options will definitively be great ones IMO thanks to have taken those into account

beuns - taking a break on breaking new ground, at least for the moment. The Encounters need to be polished up and all working and making sense with good options. That work has to continue! And ... actually, you'll probably just see more of the same of system improvement in the next update. Mostly been messing around with new art directions and nothing has materialized yet!
