I already sent you guys private messages on this matter, but I figured if others have seen this, I might get more responses.
Here is the copy/paste:
Just purchased AoP, but the install says "could not be downloaded due to an error" and gives (498) as the error code. Do you guys have any clue what is happening?
*End of copy/paste*
Now then, I have never seen this message before, so I have no idea how to remedy it. Usually, if there is an app my phone can't handle(yeah, still on the crumby back phone) on the Play store, it will either say Device Not Supported, or simply won't show up. I can play all of the other games fine, so I'm at a loss.
Oh, and yes I made space on the phone so I can get the games onto the SD card, since your games take up very little phone space once moved. So I can't imagine space is an issue.
Don't worry about a refund if this can't be resolved. I can always load up Bluestacks on my computer and play that way. Plus, I've supported you for 2-3 years, and I'm not about to stop now.

We have had this report before and it seems caused by Google Play issues. Anyone have advice on how to get past this?

fallen - I know we briefly discussed it through PMs, but I figured I might as well post here too. Hopefully someone far smarter than I knows what to do, or what the cause is. Oh, before it is asked: Yes, I have cleared Google Play's cache, unmounted and remounted SD, turned wifi on and off, restarted the phone, sacrificed three chickens and a goat(the goat was kind of a jerk anyway), told it to "Open Sesame!", and even prayed to the younger Barbera Eden in her sexy genie outfit....Everything Google said should work. So now we need new, fresh ideas. And no, I will not share my fantasy Barbera Eden. Get your own fantasy!

Yikes, careful! Please be sure you really want to do that before you do!

From link: " These are the steps I came up with to resolve my download problem and it didn't require a factory reset on the device. hope it works for you, please let me know if it does/doesn't, just curious.
1. I went to settings - applications - manage applications and filtered to show just running applications.
2. Selected Download Manager
3. Cleared cache and selected force stop. (Not sure if the force stop was necessary)
After these steps my problem was resolved and I did not require a factory reset

Lt. Hathaway - My issue is only specific apps are having this problem, while others have let me download multiple times just to test it out. And I have done everything in that video as well. fallen - The really strange part is if I go to the Google Play website, not the app, the download/install button says AoP is already installed. This isn't true, obviously as it contradicts the Play app, but I wonder if that could possibly be the culprit. Any thoughts on this? Oh, and as a note, this phone was factory reset just shortly before I returned to the forum a couple weeks ago. I highly doubt it needs another, as very little has been done to it.

Hmm. Are you doing anything odd with your SD card? On one of my devices I've got an odd partition I'm using to replace my tiny internal storage, and it causes me occasional Play issues, which I could help you around. If you're running a stock system, I'm out of ideas, other than side loading.

To the best of my knowledge, it's a clean and reformatted SD. My wife took a bunch of dumb cat pics(our cats are nearly braindead at times, I swear), and I cleared almost all of them out. Eventually I will get around to popping the SD into my USB reader and see what else there might be on it. Either a little bit later tonight or tomorrow. It kind of depends on whether I am sick of troubleshooting.

Nah, if you were doing what I'm doing, you'd know. Last piece of advice, other than side loading, is to clear internal storage space for the download. It may be unrelated, but I've long been resigned to the fact that TA, at least, will never update to the SD card on my tablet. I used to move it to internal, update, then move it back to SD.

Weird. I've never had that issue before.
I intentionally cleared enough space on this phone for AoP, and still some space after. Once moved to SD, the game should have just a rather small footprint on the device, just like ST and the others.
I fully admit this phone is not very good, but it can play the games so whatever. I am considering rooting it, since it's supposed to be easy. I've never rooted a phone before, so i'm also a little apprehensive.

Well, it's been a couple of days and no dice. Still getting that obnoxious error. It does the same thing to the free version as well, if that makes a difference. None of the other games have had this issue. I'm just puzzled.
