Hello there!
So, playing through the prologue again and ran into what appears to be a bug. Not sure if it's been reported, but a quick check makes me think it hasn't been.
HoS version 1.1.11
Bug Report Seems the bug could be in one of two areas related dual wielding. When making an attack with less than optimal AP, Vraes (the Outlander) will attack with one weapon only. This is fine, but it appears that his damage does not scale down.
For example; Vraes is wielding a Training Sword (2 ap) and a long knife (1 ap), if he attacks with just 2 ap remaining he'll still deal 30+ damage in my game.
Possible Solution Well, seems you could either lock dual wielding attacks to their total required AP or try to figure out how to disable the off-hand damage if AP is not sufficient. I like the second option better because if you lock dual wielding to only using both weapons then Vraes will usually only be able to attack once a turn. If dual wielders absolutely required their total AP cost to attack then the negatives of dual wielding (extra AP cost) would outweigh the positives (extra damage) because there would be functionally no difference at all to just attacking twice for the same AP cost. If you are considering locking dual wielding to the total required AP maybe let Vraes have a way of reducing the AP cost of the off-hand weapon? A skill or talent of some sort?

johndramey - thanks for the post on this, we will take a look. We have to do some balance on how Light Blades work in Dual Wielding as well, so we will wrap these into one. #HOS-2253 for this one!

The code builds the dual wield weapon and then checks the AP.
If the AP cost of both weapons is too great, it uses the first weapon ... until it is time to calculate damage.
Then it goes back to the combo weapon. Sneaky bug, hidden in a very dark corner. Thanks for the report -- fixed!

Awesome, glad to do my part. Looks like I'll go back to my dual wield build next patch, felt too much like cheating right now.

I really doubt this bug is causing anyone to breeze through anyone LOL -- it occurs on what, maybe < 10% of your actions for the party? hehehe, if thinking that is what is helping is getting you through -- go with it! the power of the sugar pill

Duel Wielding Question. I think long knives depend on Dexterity for Accuracy, and Blades on Strength. Does this affect the overall attack?

Duel Wielding Question. I think long knives depend on Dexterity for Accuracy, and Blades on Strength. Does this affect the overall attack? You get the average of the two
