John Robinson I like your NPC pic, fallen did a nice job on it. I plan on using mine the same way when I get it I'm really enjoying playing with Vincent... On my first play thru with him. Thanks I've been wondering who else has one. Can't wait to see yours. Had to use photobucket resize to finally get it down to 150x150. The adjust brightness and contrast tool in pb also helps. The one fallen sends you is much higher res.

Wow! Thanks for the Avatar looks just like the way you created it. I could never get it right on my own. Captures my urban city rat appeal that makes people's skin crawl (can you smell my charm?). I just smile and say, "Sooner or later you'll need a little help, they all do in the city, send the pretty one to ask."

Thanks for your staunch support of the project! Other backers stay tuned - NPCs are going in! There are two in total in Episode 1 Act 2 (upcoming). More will be appearing in E2!

You have no idea how tempting it would be to drop a pic of Minsc into the portrait folder for the Outlander. GO FOR THE EYES BOO! Hamsters & Rangers everywhere, REJOICE! Go for the eyes, Boo!

My tips on Vincent after playing him to level 25...
Pick 1 of his attack spells -- splitting up between them isn't effective. Spear, Storm or Sunder -- take one and stick with it.
Curses that remove monster Attack points are one of the most important things to have in Episode 2 and 3. Boss monsters with 4+ attacks will devastate if you do not remove. Vincent has a great -AP curse.
Vincent has two buffs that actually stack on each other -- Thundering Blades and Eye of the Storm, this is unique and powerful. You should use it in almost every build of V.
As you descend deeper into the game, you will face increasingly resilient and magical monsters. The resistance profile of the game favors exotic damage types like ice and lightning. More monsters have Earth and Fire resistance than any other type.
It is critical for Vince to place Attribute points into Knowledge, Intelligence and Dexterity.
Increase his HP with Gear, not Constitution.
Vince's build is highly fluid based on equipment -- in Episode 2 you may find yourself changing out between a Staff and Blade in different areas for best impact.
Armed with a 1AP weapon, Vincent is a melee killing machine when combined with Selen's curse attacks, Flash Freeze or (candidate for best curse in game) AE =)

Thanks Cory. I will give him another run. Like other posts, I have found Vince & Selen make the cleric mostly magic based. Figuring out the effective adjustments is the challenge.

Ohh, I finally get it. Ethereal Anguish/Flash Freeze take AP away from attacker, whick is actual attacks. I was thinking the enemies moved on the same AP as party members and 6 instead of 7 didnt seem like a huge deal. Vince and Kyera together can eliminate 6 attacks per round when surrounded, HUGE deal. My new favorite spell.
Thinking Vince and Tamilin may may match up better and Kjartan and Selen. Tjanks for the explanation.

Low level I agree, Karj + Selen is underwhelming, especially since you don't really need both of them debuffing & Karj is more efficient. At higher levels (currently) the combo should shine more since they could beat down mobs defensive stats better instead of just taking an edge of individually.

I found what I like the most do far is to focus on 1ap light blades with thundering blades.
I scapings main attack skill low and get mostmy damage out of that buff. It us very sp efficient and is a lot of fun to have so many attacks.
Other then that I second the only picking on of the range spells. I favor the 2nd on but its name I can not remember.
I like that one because it's damage and sp are balanced well and I find it's square AoE the easist to use well. Yes it never grows but we'll big AoE is not his main role IMO.

This thread finally got me to register and not just sit on the outside looking in...
I found Vincent to be relatively useless during the early going until fights got bigger nearing the shaman's home and the levels added up. I found using him in situations where you could strike 3+ enemies with Lightning Spear most effective as it is not a cheap spell. You miss out on the boosted damage from Karjtan's armor debuff with your melee characters, but what you lose there you gain tenfold over time. Lightning Spear coupled with mounds of +hit turns the ability into a reaper of lost souls as the rest of the party is there to clean up what remains. I find he does his best work on archers (usually have the lowest resistance in general). Vraes wrangles them up with line of sight or charges into their midst for Vincent to draw close enough....then....POW!! Vincent cackles maniacally with lightning from his eyes laying waste... (at least that's how I choose to imagine it).
One tip/word of warning is to try and use a weaker target as your initial attack focus so that it's not as likely to be resisted because the ability seems to span out from the initial target. You definitely have to be careful turning him into a glass cannon as I only had one loss in the whole play through with Vincent and that was because he got flanked coming in behind Vraes by two melee enemies out of the fog, splat. Don't let Karjtan know, but I found Vincent to be a better AoE damage dealer because of the branching out pattern Lightning Spear upgrades to, very effective and easy to use.

Outsider - great tips! The next release includes some positive re-balance for Vincent's talents - Energy Storm and Eye of the Storm.
