Maybe you missed the party, Boeu. How many AU away was the rumor originally? I've found that sometimes I have flown half-way across the galaxy only to find the rumor was stale. I then have to wonder why the hell did I load my entire cargo hold up with friggin plants! I sold them off at a loss so I could get more water-fuel to get back to the area of the map I wanted to be in.

A big day on an Independent Rock is smaller than a slow day on DeValtos Prime.

I'm fairly sure I recall Cory saying that the rumor about the Spice Hall overflowing is NOT an indication of spice availability in the market.
IIRC the Exchange is for sales of raw spice. The Spice Hall is the only legal outlet for refined spice. So the rumor pertains to, gods help us all, the availability of rumors on that world. It does not indicate an abundance of spice in the Exchange, nor that said Spice is any cheaper.
For spice in the Exchange I think you want to hunt up the standard "Surplus" rumor instead.
(some forum search-fu should readily discover Cory's post on it, I'm just running off meat-board memory so take my words with a shaker of salt)

{edit} Oh, the 12 rounds of spice could well have been above normal for the port you were in, so that part could be right. {/edit}

My way of thinking on a rumor saying 'the halls and market are overflowing' is theres lots of everything. But i may be wrong. *shrugs*

Oh, I agree that the wording is poor for what the rumor is actually conveying.
I'm just pretty sure that what it's conveying is about the Spice Hall and not the Exchange.

OK I've run into this too. So it's telling you that you can get more rumors there at the spice hall. Is that correct?

Maaybe it's overflowing with drunken stoned patrons and friggin tourists who come along and pay full price for everything in the stalls without even thinking that bargaining prices down is what the stall owners actually expect. "You say one hat is $40 and 2 hats are $90? I'll offer you $150 for all three hats".

Well they are worth more together as a set than they are individually...
