for those of you nearing or who have completed Episode 1 - do you think it is fair to say 20+ hours of play?
What would you guess was your play through time?
Thanks, want to insure we are listing fair, but non-Trese values.

It took me ages (at least 10 hours) just clearing out the north vault + farms + ratkin warrens and underground. I have only just started exploring the west gate - am about 1/2 an hour in on that. After I finish I'll retry and try and time my actions ... but I'm expecting to get at least 15 hours from the first pass at Ep 1.

Gosh... yes probably 15 hrs broken up into 30 min blocks as I frequently needed breaks from my real life.
Hard to judge because I played it in lots of mini sessions...
That said probably have more left based on another comment I've read. (Cleric told me chapter 1 was over though).

Getting close.. but can't say yet. I'm going to estimate probably 10-20 though. I really don't want to ballpark inbetween there, because despite how close I feel I'm getting you guys tend to throw a curveball.

I will say though... it is value packed time... its not like some games in the genre where you grind for hours to get to a high enough level to beat a baddie. The hours are honest with constant new exploring. Another thing I'm glad you didn't do is what Andors Trail (and others) do. Sends you back and forth between two distant townships over and over again to complete one quest just to add game time without adding maps. Time in this game isn't busy-time... its honest following the quest/story time. Trees brothers game time is honest game time!

Got to say, I love the fact that the time has not been spent grinding! It's a huge improvement over the common trend in the genre on the platform you're marketing towards right not. (Phone)

Hope you will tell all your friends and followers. Indie game companies live and die by word of mouth.

I lol at that.. yet I've talked to about three or four friends about the fact that HoS is starting to introduce the ideas and mechanics behind "Proper CRPGS" to the phone market. Doing what I can.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. We would love to have other hour estimates posted by other players too. Thanks!

Absolutely... already got one person hooked... although admittedly its just my son so its not going to get you any extra income... ... although he'll probably get his friends to all play just like he did with torchlight. That's why I tried to fly through episode one quickly so he didn't blab spoilers to me. Bonus: I've started calling him "ratkin"... sorta rhymes with his name.

fallen - I'm not finished with Episode 1 yet, but I can say that I've put about 6-8 hours into the episode and I've only just cleared out the North Vault and made contact with the small farm community on the Western map... something Ravine? Hope that helps, but I'll be sure to input my final time when I finish everything.
