Anyone figured out what you get extra experience for besides traps/locks?

I believe certian enemies award bonus XP to the character that deals the final blow. I believe Shamans and Giant Rats do. Any "hero" enemy does.

Those giant rats were tougher than expected. They handed me my first death.

Bosses grant extra XP ... disarming traps, secret doors, side quests, removing certain curses. The big one is killing lots and lots of monsters that are higher level than you

I've run out of monsters to kill. They are hiding from me. I've looked under rocks, in caves, up in trees, and nothing. I swear they are all wearing rock-colored paint or something.
Vraes has poked a few darker areas in the dungeons and has said in a comforting voice "Helloooooo ... are you there? I am a friend ... don't worry about my big sharp sword". But nothing.
I'm now re-exploring all areas that I have ever been to see if maybe there is one beastie that is just waiting for the party to come past to so it can come out o the shadows and say "Oogaboogablargleglurp" before Vraes rightly skewers it.

Ooo. Secret Doors. Mind explaining the mechanics behind them? Going to have to move onto a specific tile like hidden objects? Require Farsight to spot? And higher level monsters, does that mean in general Nightmare parties will gain experience quicker than lower difficulties due to higher monster level?
And can't wait to delve into the next part. Need to try and get my Sorcerer party ready for it too..

Karjus - the XP and gold rewards are actually reduced vs. other difficulty levels ("scarce rewards").
